Let it Snow...Let it Snow...Let it Snow...

DEC.22....ONLY 3 SHOPPING DAYS LEFT...
READY OR NOT HERE IT COMES!

Greetings y'all {that's my southern accent}...For the Dec. TATTERED ANGELS design team projects the challenge was to work with glass and Tattered Angels paint products. I made several attempts and discovered that these 2 products, with a little pre-preparation, work beautifully together. If you have viewed all the other Design Team projects you have seen a vast plethora of projects. I'm pleased to show you what I have created.

PROJECT #1... KOSTA BODA SNOWBALL CANDLE HOLDER
{Designed in 1973 by Ann Warff}

This project was an easy one to complete with the irregular shape of this Swedish designed glass votive. I applied 2 thin coats of the Glimmer Glam and the glass took the finish immediately. I set it aside to dry overnight and jokingly thought that if I didn't like the effect I would just wash it off...ha...the finish wouldn't budge! So Lesson #1...Glimmer Glam will not wash off if applied to an irregular glass shape!

Kosta Boda Snowball Candle
Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam MERMAID

Here is the Snowball CANDLE holder paired with a wood frame that I made along with last month's wood projects. I set it aside thinking that it would work well for Christmas decorating. It is a reminder of how well Tattered Angels products work on several different surfaces and I think the candle holder fits right in with the snow theme.

Project #2 Glimmer Glass with Glimmer Glam
Since I was on a Christmas kick I thought I would try the effect on Tattered Angels Glimmer Glass products. I was digging though various supplies and pulled out this chipboard mini-house. Hmmm...the wheels started turning...I then stumbled across the Glimmer Glass snowflake and it all came together. I stamped and misted, I glammed and glazed and created the outside of this little house.

Here is my little snowflake window which has been coated with Glimmer Glam Chandelier but again hard to capture how sparkly it really is.

Now for the inside I wall papered & covered it with my absolute favorite finishing spray...Tattered Angels Iridescent Gold...unfortunately I couldn't get my camera to capture how pretty it looks. I used 2 Glimmer Glass snowflakes...one for the outside and the other for the inside to give it the look of a window. Of course I had to fill the inside with 2 of my most favorite people in this world...my daughter Cait and grandson Shane, framed in misted & glazed Tattered Angels Framed Fonts.

Project #3 Christmas Snow Globe
I can't help but think of Christmas snow globes when it comes time for decorating. Unfortunately I don't have any...until I saw this flower vase stuck away in my pantry. Perfect shape but how was I going to get anything to stick to the smooth & slick surface. My mind started churning...I realized I need something for the product to stick to. I painted a very thick coat of Clear Gesso onto the top and let it drip down over the globe. Once it dried overnight I was then able to give it a coat of TA Glimmer Mist Chalkboard in Chalk followed by Dazzling Diamonds...now I will tell you that I over sprayed until I was happy with the result. I finished off my snow globe with several coats of Glimmer Glam in Chandelier. Again I found it hard to capture the true sparkle that stems from these different applications. I added several plastic crystals to the top for the appearance of ice crystals. I now have my very own...giant sized snow globe.
Doesn't my little house look right at home with it?

MERRY CHRISTMAS to all...
 as my friend Clark Griswold
of National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation fame
once said so wisely...
"HALLEJUAH, HOLY S#*T,
WHERE'S THE TYLENOL?"
