I wanted to utilize this gorgeous card box from Walnut Hollow. I first misted it with Aquamarine and Dark Denim Glimmer Mist from Tattered Angels. I also misted my Pink Paislee Mistable paper and tag with Blackberry Cordial, Calypso & Fairway from Tattered Angels. Fast and quick and once dry I was ready to embellish using my favorite 450 Quick Dry and Liquid Scrap Dots. I adhered the paper and tag using my brayer to smooth out any bumps and lumps...pleasantly surprised when I realized that they were few and far between. Digging into my Prima supply I found an assortment of Prima Flowers perfect to go with the colors I chose for my paper...some small...some large but I knew that I didn't have to worry about attaching these flowers to my card box. Once completed a crystal knob was attached for the top handle to help finish off this project.
My starting point for this project was with the Prima Original Canvas MIST·a·ble (549763) and Prima Felt De-Vines as the background. I misted the canvas leaves with a combo of Olive Vine& Key Lime Pie Glimmer Mist then added Organic Garden Glimmer Glam and shaped them as they were drying for a natural look. The canvas flourish was misted withPumpkin Spice and Butternut Squash Glimmer Mist and highlighted it with Hammered Copper Glimmer Glam and also shaped as it dried. The Prima Felt De-Vines were covered with Organic Garden & Espresso Bean Glimmer Glam. Once all pieces were dried I attached several Prima flowers from various collections, a butterfly and of course some bling using my trusty 450 Quick Dry Glue and Liquid Scrap Dots and it was done. I love how it turned out and will definitely look great for these soon to be Fall days!
Here is another repurposed project. A canvas board that was misted with an assortment of colors and never used became the base of a project that probably only makes sense to me...trying to find the perfect blue to paint my bedroom. Starting with a picture from Kill Devils Hill beach at the Outer Banks and several color swatches the project came to together to remind me of 2 of my favorite things...the beach and the color blue.
I actually created the background several years ago and don't remember what Glimmer Mists I used but I knew that I wanted to use cheesecloth for texture and cover the background. I applied it with a small amount of gesso and misted with Nougat Glimmer Mist and I purposely splattered mists & glams on the background. I painted my Prima flowers with Ocean Spray & Hayride, they were removed from a vine spray and I used the vines along the side like it was sea grass. Prima Canvas Word Art was misted with NougatGlimmer Mist and then glammed up with the incredible Twinkle Toes Glimmer Glam. The 2 piece flourish chipboard from Out There Chippy was painted with Ocean Spray and Hayride Glimmer Glam. For added sparkle I added a handful of Swarovski Crystals.
For my last project I started with 12 x12 Prima Canvas Screen Art and a 12 x 12 Triangle stencil designed by Julie Balzer and chose colors that I don't normally chose. I used the brand new Chalkboard Mist colors in French Vanilla, Mauve'lous, Monolith, Astrids &Charcoal...oh my, I was so happy with the results that this project just kept on growing. Liking the colors so much I cut a section out of another Prima (MIST)able Canvasbackground and misted with the same colors. I added a layer of Hawaiian HibiscusGlimmer Glaze along the edges of both canvas pieces...this glaze color matches perfectly with the Chalkboard Mists. I added a sentiment using a Dylusions Quintessential Quotes Stamp set to my canvas tag. The Prima Canvas Word Art "Journey" was first sprayed with Monolith Chalkboard and then a very heavy coat of Sassy Silver Glimmer Glaze. The Prima Felt Viola piece was just to black, I tried to subdue the color with a misting of Charcoal Glimmer Mist and Tinsel Town Glimmer Glam. Adding several Prima Flowers and Leaves helped finish this piece, along with a set of Maya Road Fibers {again perfect colors}.
Here's a close up of the stencils, colors, canvas words, felt flourish and embellishments.
Have a great weekend!
Hugs,
Martha
